When planning your next family vacation, you might consider a summer trip to Bay Landing in Texas. While there, you will discover many wonderful things to experience such as "Thousand Trails". This area was founded in 1969 and today, is considered one of the most successful and largest private camping clubs in the United States. The people who run Thousand Trails are dedicated to making every person's time safe, clean, affordable, and filled with fun.

While many people love camping, some prefer less rustic settings. At this particular location, the parks have campsites with running water and electrical hookups. In fact, if you have an RV, you will enjoy the sewer connections. Other amenities include showers and bathrooms, along with recreation. For instance, most of the camps have basketball courts, tennis courts, and even laundry facilities.

Now, the kicker is that you need to be a member but membership is very affordable. The benefit is that you stay in a controlled campground where people look out for your safety so you do not have to. The campsites are spotless and sanitary. As you can imagine, for people wanting to get away from big city crime, a trip to Thousand Trails is well worth the small investment. Whether traveling alone, as a couple, or with children, the great outdoors of this Texas location is a great getaway.

For Bay Landing, this is a magnificent, 281-acre development where you can enjoy things like a gorgeous beach, swimming pools, basketball courts, a clubhouse, and more. The site offers 45 full hookups, as well as 200 partial hookups. Other options are the ability to accommodate a 50-foot RV or if you prefer staying in Cabins, you will find a number of options that sleep between four and six people. Best of all, the rates average $45 a night, very affordable.

Keep in mind that Bay Landing is not open from late October to the first part of March but otherwise, you can go when you like. However, you must make a reservation by calling since drop-ins are not accepted. In addition, Bay Landing does allow dogs, as long as they are kept on a leash. While there, you and the family can go for a bike ride, enjoy boat rides, play horseshoes, miniature golf, ping-pong, or walking any number of beautiful trails. If you want to attend a movie, go shopping, or experience a big city, then you could heard to Dallas/Fort Worth, just an hour away.
