Travel Deals To The Tropics

When the weather begins to heat up here so do the travel deals to places that experience tropical weather year round. Here are a few that caught my eye.

St. Lucia Special

If you are dreaming of a tropical getaway complete with lush rainforests, natural hot springs, and white-sand beaches---think St. Lucia... and think cheap. Beach Destinations is currently offering a special for just $625. The price includes airfare from Miami (or your preferred departure city at an additional cost), a four-night stay at upscale Coco Palm Hotel, and daily breakfast. If you think $625 is steep consider that the regular rates in the off-season top $200/night. The deal that runs through June 30th saves you 35% off regular package costs. And in case your wondering if the hotel room is a nightmare Caribbean Travel & Life writes, " . . . affordable-chic Coco Palm Hotel in the center of Rodney Bay Village has 71 rooms and 12 suites with plantation-style furniture, local artwork and glass-walled showers. The best rooms are the swim-up suites and the top-floor suites with roof deck overlooking the village vibe with its restaurants, shops and bars." Not too shabby.

Barbados Bargain

If you want to add a little British flavor to your tropical fix consider jetting off to the beautiful island of Barbados. During the winter months finding an affordable room on the island is impossible. But, during the spring and early summer months you can usually find a great deal. For instance, Expedia is currently offering a seven-night foray to the lush island for $1,060, with airfare from New York and lodging at The Crane, one of the island's top-rated properties. The hotel is perched on a cliff-top above a coral-sand beach and is rated as a four-star resort. The property offers guest rooms with private patios and an infinity pool where you can watch the sun sink into the horizon. The deal is good for travel through mid-July. Given that the hotel's off-season rates run up to $300/night---you're saving some serious bucks.
