It's true; summer vacation for some folks is rapidly drawing to a close. Wal-Mart already has its back-to-school supplies out and in some states where year-round school is in place classes for the new year begin in a couple of weeks.

If your family has yet to escape on a summer getaway the clock is ticking. The good news is that there are still a number of travel deals to be had.

Take a look:

HAWAII

Securing a flight to Hawaii has gotten harder and more expensive in the last few months so this next deal is a rare find. Right now Expedia is offering a travel package to Maui for $1,100. The price includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles and four-nights accommodations at the upscale Westin Maui Resort and Spa. The exclusive 12-acre resort is set on oceanfront property and includes access to the hotel's 87,000-sq.-ft. aquatic playground with five pools, waterfalls, and a water slide. To get in on the deal you have to travel between August 1 and 31, 2008.

FLORIDA

To get one last taste of summer pack up the kids and head to Amelia Island, Florida. The Hampton Inn there is offering a "Fuel Your Fun" package that includes a $50 gas card good at Flash Food stations (located in Florida and Georgia) when you stay two nights. The hotel also offers complimentary breakfast daily and is one block from the beach. Rates start at $139 per room per night, or $278 for the required two-night stay. The offer is good through September 30, 2008.

KENTUCKY

Families looking to take an educational vacation might consider heading to Berea, Kentucky. Right now the Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant is offering a special summer "Historic Package," which includes two-night accommodations continental breakfast daily, dinner for two at the hotel, a historical tour guided by a Berea College student, and a Boone Tavern souvenir. The hotel, named after American pioneer Daniel Boone, has been in continuous operation since 1909 and is situated on College Square in Berea. Other local attractions within walking distance of the 58-room hotel include the Log House Craft Gallery, Berea College, and Churchill Weavers. Rates start at $319 per room for two nights.
