Now you really don't have an excuse to put the brakes on a summer family getaway. Hotels across North America are once again enticing parents to load their broods in the family vehicle and head out on the highway this summer--despite record high gas prices.

In turn for your loyalty the following lodgings are offering gas incentives to get you going this summer season:

ARIZONA

The luxurious JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona, which features a new waterpark complete with a lazy river and waterslide, is offering a two-night "Summer on the Go Package" for just $199 per room per night and they are throwing in a $50 gas card redeemable at any local gas station. The offer expires on September 20, 2008.

CALIFORNIA

Now's your chance to talk like the animals in San Diego without putting a major dent in your family's budget. By taking advantage of the "Summer Sizzle" package at the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter you'll receive free parking, breakfast, 10 percent off admission to local attractions such as the San Diego Zoo, and a $25 gas card good at Shell stations for just $279 per room per night. Another bonus: the offer is good through the end of the year.

COLORADO

The Vail Cascade Resort & Spa is just one of 30 lodgings participating in the Destination Hotels & Resorts Summer Savings Program. The package includes a $25 room credit for every night you book. You can use the credit toward golf, the spa, or dining. The hotel says the extra $25 is a way for guests to offset the high price of fuel. Rooms at the resort start from $139 per night. The deal is good through August 31, 2008.

FLORIDA

Choose to soak up the sun in Florida this summer and you can expect to gain more than just a great tan. The Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach (located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami) is offering an amazing "Summer Savings Package," which features an incredible room rate ($150 per room per night) plus a bonus gas card. Guests who stay two nights will get a $25 gas card while those who stay three nights will get a $50 card. You can redeem the cards at any gas station. Also included in the package--complimentary breakfast, a $15 in-room movie credit, and two drink coupons daily. The offer expires on September 30, 2008.

There are also big summer savings to be had in Tampa as well. The new InterContinental Tampa is giving guests a two-night weekend stay for just $298, plus they will receive a $40 rebate towards their final bill, which they can use to pay for gas. The deal expires on September 2, 2008.
