In this blog I've listed unique and exotic trips for Valentine's Day lovers who don't mind going the extra mile (or a few thousand) to say, "I love you," to their best friends. Take a look: PARIS To take advantage of the "Paris City Break" package, you must be able to free up your schedule from Febraury14th-18th. The deal includes a four-night stay at the Comfort Inn Mouffetard and round-trip, economy-class airfare on Alitalia, Air France or Delta, departing from Boston and New York City, starting at $545 per person. The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter near major attractions, such as the Seine River and the cathedral of Notre Dame. The lodging is clean and comfortable; however if you really want to splurge on your sweetie you could upgrade to the luxurious Hotel Edouard VII for an additional $465 (which includes a free fifth night). MONTSERRAT, THE WEST INDIES If your idea of the perfect Valentine's Day getaway includes tropical beaches and active volcanoes then this is the package for you. While in Montserrat you'll stay at Tropical Mansion Suites, a resort built in 1999 that features lush grounds and a swimming pool. Rates start at $222 per night per couple and include a fruit basket, glasses of complimentary champagne, and floral arrangements. For those of you who have never been to Montserrat it is a 39-square-mile island (a British territory) that is home to dozens of dark-sand beaches thanks to the nearby Soufriére Hills Volcano. The island also offers spectacular snorkeling and chances to get up close and personal with sea sponges, eels, and sea turtles. VIENNA Valentine's Day in Vienna... does it get more romantic than that? This particular travel package includes a three-night stay at the 70-room Albatros Hotel, which is located within walking distance of subway stops that connect to downtown Vienna. The package also includes round-trip, economy-class airfare on Austrian Airlines, departing from Chicago, D.C., or New York City for $600 per person. If you have time to spare you can extend your stay by adding three nights of lodging in Salzburg for about $280 per person.
