Record Breaking Speeder

Have you ever been pulled over for speeding? Be honest. I have. But not nearly as often as an Arizona mortgage broker who has traveled at high speeds so frequently she recently made state history.

Francesca Cisneros has racked up 70 speeding tickets in the last five months, that's a new state record according to the Scottsdale Police Department. How is that possible? Apparently, it is easy when you have speeding cameras mounted in areas that Cisneros frequents. Those cameras documented the 32-year-old driver as she tore through Scottsdale streets in her Honda Civic dozens of times between March 2nd and July 31st.

A local newspaper says Cisneros told arresting officers she was speeding because "she seemed to be late for client meetings all the time." Scottsdale police determined she had some "serious time management issues," and didn't let her off with just a warning. How could they? Seriously, how many warnings are you allowed before you are ticketed? In my experience, sometimes none.

And it wasn't like Cisneros got one or two tickets, paid them and was later stopped again a week later. Police say she threw her speeding tickets away because she thought nothing would happen to her if she didn't pay them... and she kept ripping through Scottsdale at speeds that often far exceeded the posted limits. Not to mention the fact that in five months time she had accumulated more speeding tickets than the average driver gets in three lifetimes.

Police say Cisneros currently faces some $11,000 in fines and could have her license suspended. I'm just wondering why it took police so long to nab her if in fact they had captured her offensives on tape on more than five dozens occasions?

Being from AZ, I can attest to how EASY it is to get a ticket in Scottsdale...if you drive through a monitored intersection, and you are over the speed limit... BAM! you have a ticket...

Thanks bluetree... makes me appreciate living in Wisconsin. We may have long winters, but we don't have monitored intersections!

That's terrible that you get an automated ticket. Can't imagine living in such a "Big Brother" type of place.
