Fun Things for Kids on a Royal Caribbean Cruise

Although there are many wonderful vacations designed specifically for families with children, I would highly recommend you check out Royal Caribbean’s Adventure Ocean. You can get involved with rock climbing, ice skating, swimming, and much, much more. The great thing that I loved about this particular cruise was that in addition to there being so much for mom and dad, the kids were never left out. This particular Royal Caribbean cruise was made for families, meeting different interests, energy levels, and ages. I was also amazed at the incredible service. I had been on several cruises in the past and … Continue reading

“Pirates of the Caribbean” Adventure Vacation

Call it a summer stunner. It’s the movie that has forced competitors to walk the plank. I’m of course referring to “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” which has smashed box-office records by taking in an unprecedented $132 million (in North America) during its first three days—the biggest debut of any film in history. Now a travel company is attempting to cash in on the movie’s popularity by offering a chance for you to trace the footsteps of the “real” pirates of the Caribbean. Breakaway Adventures in advertising a “Pirates of the Caribbean” Dominica Walking Tour. The tour package … Continue reading

Are you heading to the Magic Kingdom sometime soon? Worried about how you’re going to be able to do all you want to do while you are there? Let’s have a look at a touring plan that will get you to the park and out of the park while still achieving your goals. First and foremost, before you take your children to the parks or on the vacation, have a family sit down and determine what rides are absolutely important to go on before you arrive. For my family, Splash Mountain is a must do ride. It’s my daughter’s absolute … Continue reading

The commercial will also invite Spidey fans to visit the network’s site to see seven minutes of never-before-seen film footage. “Spider-Man 3” is considered one of the summer’s most anticipated movies along with “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” which will debut its trailer during the “Dancing with the … Continue reading

Long Movies—Love Them Or Leave Them?

Quite honestly I can’t remember the last time I paid money to see a movie (in a theater) that wasn’t animated. My two-year-old daughter is the official movie selector in our home and frankly, I have no complaints about her choices. I have always had a hard time sitting through long movies. I get antsy. Seriously, I fidget so much it becomes annoying to the person seated next to me. Which is why kid-friendly animated films–that last about 80 minutes–are perfect for me. Recently, I learned that I might not be the only one who struggles to sit through long … Continue reading

P is for Pirate!

Yesterday was apparently International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Unfortunately I didn’t run around saying argh and avast ye matey or whatever else it is that pirates are infamous for saying. My favorite pirate, Captain Hook, was more likely to respond to a Tick Tock than he was to ahoy matey! Disney announced yesterday that they were planning the DVD release for the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest for December 5th just in time for Christmas. This film has been breaking records since it’s release including the highest theatrical opening weekend in U.S. box office history and becoming … Continue reading

New Members of the Billionaire Boys Club: Jack Sparrow & Will Turner

Last Friday, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest crossed the 1 billion dollar mark at the global box office and is the third film in history to cross that finish line following in such great footsteps as Titanic and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Disney is justifiably proud of their accomplishment since the film has been breaking records all over the world including holding the current #1 film spot for 2006 in the U.S. box office along with the #1 in the international box office. The Dead Man’s Chest opened in Italy yesterday and the … Continue reading

Treasure Hunting—The Real Deal

It’s an adventure for the entire family. A chance to make like swashbucklers on the hunt for real pirate booty. If you’ve been caught up in the treasure hunting mania fueled by the summer blockbuster movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,” you are in for a real treat. A Wisconsin couple is putting on a real-live treasure hunt this fall that promises to combine travel and adventure. Treasure Hunt Wisconsin is the brainchild of Dean and Megan Olson who created treasure-hunting clues using their love of history and state lore. The hunt itself is called “Queen Anne’s Revenge” … Continue reading

A Day at the Magic Kingdom – Tips for Your First Visit

If you’ve never been to Walt Disney World before, your first trip can be somewhat daunting if you’re not sure where to go and what to do. While the parks do provide maps and event details, it can be confusing to the average visitor.
