From Oregon to Washington, D.C., Utah to Texas, holiday travel deals are ripe for the picking. Whether your family enjoys hitting the slopes together or hitting the ice as a unit there are a number of resorts offering package deals that combine lodging and access to winter sporting events. Take a look:

OREGON

The Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon is kicking off the holiday season with a "Sugar Plum Special." Beginning Thanksgiving weekend guests can take advantage of a $50 credit that can be used toward any of 150 different resort activities and amenities, including spa services, meals, and lift tickets at nearby Mt. Bachelor, where kids 6 to 12 ski free from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. Also during the entire holiday season, you can take part in the resort's other noteworthy activities, including daily horse-drawn sleigh rides, a Christmas light display, visits from Santa, and a special teddy bear tea designed for stuffed animal toting tots.

UTAH

If your family loves to ice skate consider visiting the Sun Valley Ice Rink. During the winter months the rink hosts ice shows starring Olympic ice-skating champs. When the stars aren't hitting the ice the rink, which is part of the upscale Sun Valley Lodge, is open to the public. Adults can skate for $10 and children under 13 pay just $8.50. The rink also features a store where you can buy or rent skating gear.

WASHINGOTN, D.C.

You don't have to be an art lover to appreciate the spectacular sights surrounding Sculpture Garden Ice-Skating Rink in our nation's capital. During the winter months the rink is decorated with festive lights, which cast a warm glow over the National Gallery of Art's outdoor sculpture collection. For just $7 ($6 for children under 13) you can glide by the works of Joan Miró, Sol LeWitt, and Ellsworth Kelly.

HOUSTON

The Polar Ice Galleria is one of Houston's premiere tourist attractions. It sits beneath a glass atrium inside the city's sprawling, ritzy mall. The bi-level rink charges $8 for adults to skate, while children under 13 pay just $7 for a chance to hit the ice.
