The leaves aren't the only things falling as the weather turns cooler. Prices at some of the country's quaintest inns and resorts are bottoming out to attract seasonal travelers. Check out these fall travel bargains and consider taking advantage of them before the last leaves fall and the prices skyrocket back up.

MASSACHUSETTS

Nantucket's breathtaking harbor serves as the backdrop for one of the area's most popular hotels. The White Elephant has been considered an island landmark since the 1920s. It started off as an eclectic mix of cottages, but has evolved into a premier Nantucket hotel that offers upscale amenities. The property features 53 sophisticated guest rooms and suites, most with working fireplaces and harbor views, and 11 garden cottages. What's more, it is located just minutes from the unique boutiques and art galleries in the downtown area. And from now until November 29th rates drop to $135 per room, per night, Sunday to Thursday, based on availability and $155 per room, per night on weekends.

CONNECTICUT

Chester, Connecticut is a 16-square-mile patch of land situated along the Connecticut River, about 10 miles north of Long Island Sound. Locals consider it a hidden treasure and have helped to maintain its low profile for more than 200 years. The tiny town is known for its quaint shops, art galleries, and a variety of restaurants. It is also renowned for the Copper Beech Inn. The beautiful and historic inn features 13 guest rooms and luxury suites restored with period antiques. It is also home to a well-known AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. Right now the inn is offering rooms from $195 per night. The charming property is one of the largest buildings in the storybook New England village, which features a host of tiny boutiques selling Scandinavian toys, Italian pottery, and contemporary art.

NORTH CAROLINA

If the vibrant fall colors don't impress you in Highlands, North Carolina then the warm hospitality will. Fall is a feast for the senses around Highlands and nearby Raleigh-Durham. If you are looking for a place to stay in between leaf peeping consider staying the night at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa. The property is currently offering a Leaf Looker Package starting at $679 including tax and gratuity. The package includes two nights deluxe accommodations in the Inn or the Lodge, Champagne on arrival, a gourmet country picnic lunch and picnic blanket, a disposable camera, and continental breakfast each morning. The offer expires November 15th.
