Flags, parades, picnics, and of course, fireworks--you can't celebrate the Fourth of July without them regardless of where you are spending the long holiday weekend. Right now lodgings around the country are trying to woo families with specials and discounted packages to party on their turf.

If you are still deciding where to celebrate our nation's 232nd birthday consider the following options:

MASSACHUSETTS

Boston hosts one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in the entire country. This year (as they do each year) the Boston Pops will be performing a rousing patriotic concert on the banks of the Charles River and will provide the musical accompaniment to a spectacular display of fireworks over Boston Harbor. To help you get into the holiday spirit the Omni Parker House, a Boston landmark (which just underwent a $30 million restoration) is offering an incredible Fourth of July Boston Pops Package that starts at $249 per night and includes a breakfast buffet, a Boston Pops CD, and flags to wave at the fireworks display. The hotel is located on the historic Freedom Trail just steps from the gold-domed State House, the Public Garden, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

You can't get more patriotic than spending July 4th in our nation's capital. The city is hosting a slew of Independence Day events including military reenactments at nearby Mount Vernon, a giant parade along Constitution Avenue, a concert on the Capitol's West Lawn and, of course, fireworks over the Washington Monument. To help revelers make the most of their stay several area hotels are offering a "Staying Power" package, which allows you to save 30% on a three-night stay.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

The Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa located in Whitefield, New Hampshire is currently offering an Independence Weekend Celebration package that caters to families with children. The landmark hotel, which has been around for more than 100 years, boasts a columned veranda with dark green wicker chairs and overlooks a massive manicured green lawn that offers spectacular views of the White Mountains. During the holiday weekend kids get a night all their own at the Mountaineering Kids' Party with a buffet dinner, make-your-own-sundae table and marshmallow roasting at the Campfire Club. A Family Bluegrass barbecue is scheduled for the 5th and is capped off with a huge fireworks display. You can stay at the hotel and take part in all of the festivities for just $189 per night.
