What are your plans for 7-7-07? If you are planning to try your luck in Las Vegas on July 7, 2007 you won't be alone. Sin City resorts and restaurants are bracing for what is expected to be one of the busiest weekends ever. According to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Saturday July 7th is expected to be the busiest wedding day in 100 years. Makes sense; after all, 7/7/7 is considered a lucky date, and the combo comes up only once a century. And in the city where Lady Luck reigns supreme, resorts are anticipating a banner weekend.

To celebrate the streak of sevens several Las Vegas hotels are hosting "lucky" events:

The famed Mandalay Bay is hosting a massive wedding reception at its beach on July 7th. The big event will feature performances by KC and the Sunshine Band. The concert is part of a wedding package that includes the ceremony, reception buffet and drinks and leis for the wedding couple. It also includes a photo of the bride and groom and a souvenir gift bag. The price for the wedding ceremony and reception: $1,777.00.

Also hosting a 7/7/07 mass wedding is the Garden of The Gods at Caesars Palace. The hotel will host the group nuptials on July 7 at 7 p.m. The resort is selling the seven-themed wedding package for $1,777.77. The price includes the wedding ceremony, flowers, dining coupon, show tickets, a photo of the bride and groom, a wedding certificate holder and a few added extras, though lodging is not one of them.

A hotel in Japan is also hoping 7-7-07 is a lucky date for them. That's when managers there are hoping to have their streak of bad luck end. Recently, a sparkling bathtub made of pure gold (and worth nearly $1 million) was stolen from the hotel's guest bathroom on the 10th floor.

According to workers at Kominato Hotel Mikazuki in Kamogawa, south of Tokyo, the fancy round tub is made of 18-karat gold and weighs 176 pounds. The famous tub was flanked by two crane statutes and has been the centerpiece of the hotel's shared bathroom since the property opened. Guests are only allowed to use the tub a few hours a day because of security reasons.

According to police, someone apparently cut the chain attached to the door where the bathtub was placed and made off with the tub. (Remember the bathroom is located on the 10th floor of the hotel.) Officers say the have no witnesses and no suspects.
