Earth Day is next Tuesday and if you are looking for ways to embrace the environment you might consider traveling to the world's foremost eco-friendly destinations. Some of the most "green" lodgings on the planet are offering amazing discounts for environmentally aware visitors through the end of the month.

Take a look:

COSTA RICA

For just $110 per night you can stay in one of the world's premier green destinations. Costa Rica is known as the Switzerland of Central America for the way it preserves its natural wonders and Luna Lodge is the place to stay if you want to take in the area's riches. The lodging includes eight luxurious bungalows, which feature private tropical gardens. Each bungalow also includes views of the Osa Peninsula rainforest's waterfalls, fruit trees and spider monkeys.

BRAZIL

To celebrate Earth Day Brazil's Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel is offering a two-day travel package for $340. The jungle awaits you in this Southern Hemisphere hotspot, which was built among Amazon treetops. The hotel features a honeymoon suite built 110 feet up a mahogany tree. The property is also known for its catwalks 70 feet up that connect a circular dining room to a bar that resembles an eagle's nest.

ALASKA

If you are looking for luxurious lodgings in the wilderness consider spending Earth Day at Alaska's remote Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge along the Kenai Coast. For $395 per night you will receive deluxe accommodations in a cabin with gourmet kitchens and spectacular views of the Alaska countryside.

AUSTRALIA

Kanimbla View Clifftop Retreat is located in the heart of Australia's Blue Mountains and is considered one of the world's most environmentally-friendly properties. For $386 you will receive a night in a cottage with solar power; furniture made from local trees; and beds fitted with hemp sheets. Each cottage also features awe-inspiring views of the pristine Australian bush.
