Father's Day Travel Packages

I know. I know. We haven't even celebrated Mother's Day and I'm already posting Father's Day travel deals. Well, if you read my previous blog about ways to save money on vacations then you know there are big savings to be had if you book early. And if your dad loves to golf then you stand to save even more. Right now various resorts across the country are offering major Stay and Play travel deals designed to delight dear ol' dad. You can swing into savings with these great golf deals.

COLORADO

Cougar Canyon Golf Resort Community is the state's newest golf Mecca. It's located in the old mining town of Trinidad in southern Colorado and it's offering an outstanding Stay and Play package. For just $198 you will not only get a deluxe room at either the La Quinta Inn and Suites or the Quality Inn but you'll also get to play 18 holes of golf on the championship links-style course, created by Nicklaus Design. Both hotels are located just minutes from the resort. To put this deal in perspective consider that two people would normally spend $138 each to play a round of 18 holes. The deal is good through December 31, 2008.

MAINE

For just $378 you can take advantage of the Stay & Play Vacation package being offered by Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. The fee covers a night in a newly refurbished guest room (where you can enjoy the 32-inch flat screen TV and complimentary wireless Internet) plus you'll also get to try out your new swing playing 18 holes at Samoset's championship-quality course. A cart is also covered in the price as well as dinner for two at the resort's restaurant. Considering rack rates are usually priced at $229 per night, and 18 holes of golf will normally set you back $220, this deal helps you save serious cash. The offer is good through October 31, 2008.

NEW MEXICO

Another great golf deal is waiting in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dad can practice his putt with the Golf Getaway package at the 134-room Inn and Spa at Loretto. The special includes two rounds of golf (cart included) at the Black Mesa Golf Club, in the Santa Clara Pueblo just north of Santa Fe, which features awe-inspiring views of the Rio Grande Valley. For just $379 per room per night you will receive the golf deal, accommodations and a complimentary breakfast for two at the inn. That's a huge savings considering a regular room is typically price at $299 and one round of golf with a cart at Black Mesa normally costs $77. This offer is good through October 31, 2008.
