It’s been just over a week since the newest Legoland opened its doors in Winter Haven, Florida, and the theme park is already making headlines. The park boasts dozens of Lego sculptures featuring more than 50 million colorful bricks, including life-sized elephants, a 20-foot statue of Albert Einstein and an exact replica of a 2011 Ford Explorer. Good News for LEGO Lovers

It’s out with the old and in with the new in Winter Haven, Florida. Merlin Entertainments, the owner and operator of Legoland, recently announced that it plans to open another park on the site of the old Cypress Gardens attraction in 2011. The former Cypress Gardens theme park (complete with water-skiing shows, botanical gardens and Southern belles in hoop dresses) closed last fall after years of declining attendance. Ernie from “Sesame Street” would be in heaven. If your kids are as enamored with rubber ducks as the lovable orange character from the award-winning children’s television show then head to Michigan next week.
