A Dream Job For Travelers

If you like to travel and love to write then I may have a lead on what could be your dream job. First you need to answer a few questions: Do you relish staying at world-class resorts? Do you enjoy sharing your opinion with others? Are you willing to travel to the ends of the earth in search of the perfect hotel room... and stay there for free? If you answered "yes" to all of the aforementioned questions then you may have a shot at a one-of-a-kind dream writing assignment.

Let's face it there are not very many people who would pass up the opportunity to fly to an exotic location, sample to-die-for cuisine and world-class amenities, then get to share the experience with readers from around the world. After all, doesn't everyone dream of relaxing in a setting where sunsets that wash the sky in violet hues are complimented by the smells of salt water and tropical libations? I know I do.

Frankly, I was shocked to hear the offer was legitimate. It is... and here are the details: Small Luxury Hotels of the World is looking for about 200 volunteers from the United States, Europe and Asia to evaluate member lodgings that need to be inspected. To make the cut, you need to be what SLH calls a "discerning, experienced" traveler familiar with high-class hotels. Some of the world-class hideaways include: the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, California, Turtle Island in Fiji, the Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand and Ikal del Mar in Mexico's Riviera Maya.

Once you arrive at said destination you will check-in anonymously, evaluate in secret, and then file a report on the property. Note that you will be considered a "volunteer," which means you are required to pay your own transportation. However, you will get reimbursed for one or two night stays, plus meals and drinks. Basically, it sounds like an ideal job for a globetrotting individual (or family) who enjoy staying at high-class properties. I look at it this way. If you are planning a vacation and are paying for the flight anyway, this gig picks up the tab for the hotel and meals-not a bad deal.

If you are interested in the job visit the SLH website and click on the "We Need You" icon.
